1. Do I need to know HTML to make ProBYO work? - back
No. Most of the ProBYO applications come with an administration menu or a wizard.
In order to add your logo to the menu and change the idle screen graphics, you need to know how to use a graphics program to size and save the graphics in the right format. If you know how to program in HTML or use programs like Dreamweaver or Front Page, you can do much more.
2. Does it really take only one hour to setup ProBYO Kiosk? - back
Yes. Sometimes it takes less than an hour if you have the information ready.
For ProDMD, it may take longer because the TCP/IP settings need configuring to access the kiosk server for remote monitoring.
3. Can ProBYO kiosk link to my web site or intranet? - back
Yes. As long as you have Internet access and a connection to your network.
4. Can ProBYO work behind a firewall? - back
Yes. For ProSA to work behind a firewall, simply connect it to your network.
In order for ProDMD to work properly it needs to have an external IP map or forward to the Internal IP and ports 80 and 443 open on the firewall for that IP. ProDMD can also be configured on the DMZ part of the firewall. The downside to this configuration is that it will not have access to your network or Intranet.
5. Can I update content over the web to a ProBYO device? - back
Yes. If you purchased the ProDMD and connected it to the kiosk server, updating is fast and easy!
6. Do I need to get the PDF viewer to be able to see PDF documents? - back
No. You can access PDF documents with the module included with ProBYO, the problem is trying to use the Adobe PDF controls with a touch screen. If your application will be accessing PDF documents, we suggest the Pro-PDF module because it facilitates PDF navigation.
7. What is a static IP? - back
An IP is like the address for your home. Imagine if your home did not have an address. It would be difficult to find. An IP is the address for a device allowing it can be found on the web.
8. How do I find out if I have a static IP with my Internet? - back
If you did not receive information and an IP number when your broadband Internet was installed, chances are that you do not have a static IP. Call your service provider and request a static IP. A static IP is required for ProDMD, but ProSA does not require a static IP.
9. Can ProBYO be monitored without a static IP? - back
Yes. ProDMD can be configured to access the kiosk server via VPN for monitoring. If you plan to use ProDMD on a VPN, we need to configure this for you. Please give us a call to discuss this option.
10. Why is ProBYO so cheap?
Since 1993 we have been developing turnkey kiosks. We meet with clients many times, design several interfaces and software modules, write a script and detailed schedule, link to their data or convert their data to a web readable format, review and make changes to the data, and finally install the device and train the staff in charge of monitoring the device.
This service requires an investment in resources and time. The cost is 3 to 4 times as much as the cost of the device itself.
ProBYO is so inexpensive because we pre-configure the device and send it to you. You add the content and install it. We pass our savings on to you, saving you time and money.
